There is always work to be done. This is true about anything, whether the situation is emotional, musical, artistic, physical... are we ever really done? In relationships we seem to be so caught up in how we feel that we forget the effect we may have on the other person. How often has someone compromised friendship for the sake of their own ego? I think the emotional reward in a relationship is so much greater when you completely forget the idea of emotional reward.
